Orlando Broadcasting Schools & Programs

Orlando's universities and colleges feature several broadcasting programs to get students off on the right foot. The University of Central Florida offers majors in digital media, English, film, interpersonal communication, theatre, organizational communication, journalism, and radio-television, and Rollins College offers departments of communication, film studies, and theatre & dance, for example.

Broadcasting in Florida looks good quantitatively, too. Performing arts, spectator sports, and related industries are forecast to rise an annual 1.46%, increasing employment in the industry between 2004 and 2012 by 45 jobs each year and coming to employ 3,477 workers. Motion picture and sound recording industries are projected to increase by 3.12% annually, a large growth amount for any industry. The broadcasting industry itself should see a not-too-modest 2.33% jump every year, eventually coming to employ an estimated 1,570 in the city, with 31 new job openings each year.
