To support Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios of Orlando, and other attractions that have sprung up in the area, several excellent educational programs have started up in recent years to produce the top-notch students in film, video, and media communications needed. These include the film and video program at Florida Metropolitan University, which offers training in filmmaking, history, script writing, and even film business management. The New York Film Academy offers a film school at Disney-MGM Studios. Another choice is the University of Central Florida's FILM school of film and digital media program.
Students can expect nearly unparalleled opportunities for work. The state government estimates that from now through 2012, the motion picture industry will grow 25.6%. In that same time span it is expected that the broadcasting industry will grow 19%, while the performing arts industries can expect total job growth of 13%.
